MODAK

INTRODUCTION

      Modak is indeed a popular and beloved sweet during Ganpati festival. Whether fried or steamed, Modak is a delightful treat loved by many. There are two type to make Modak. two type of flour use to make Modak Wheat and Rice. I'm sure many people will enjoy trying it.


 INGREDIENTS

·         2 cup wheat flour

·       2 tsp ghee

·       1 cup of hot milk

·       1 pinch of salt

·       2 cups of shredded fresh coconut

·       1 cup of jaggery

·       Dry fruit

·       ¼ tsp cardamon powder

       PROCESS        

Step 1: Take wheat flour into a bowl and add salt, ghee, and hot milk.

Step 2: Use hot milk dough become more soft. Using hot milk we can knead dough as chapati dough.

Step 3: It should have a medium consistency.

Step 4: Heat up the pan on medium heat. Add ghee to the pan.

Step 5: Add shredded fresh coconut and jaggery, roasted well.

Step 6: Then add dry fruits and mix well fry on medium heat for just 3-4 minutes.

Step 7: After the jaggery melts then add cardamon powder. The stuffing is ready.

Step 8: Take the dough and knead it well. Transfer the dough into a bowl and keep it covered. Make sure your dough should not be dry.

Step 9: Take a small ball of dough make puri using hands and pinch the edges and make petals.

Step 10: pinch the petals up to the bottom so the Modak gets a nice shape. Fill the stuffing and close the petals.

Step 11: Transfer the Modak into the steamer. As well as you fried also.

Step 12: Heat up 5-6 cups of water and transfer the pot containing Modak on it. Close the lid and steam Modak, on medium heat for just 10-12 minutes,

Step 13: Then turn off the gas and the Modak is ready.

TIPS

§  Serve the spreading ghee on top of the Modak. Look delicious and Modak melting on the mouth.
