DAL KHICHDI

 

INTRODUCTION

Dal khichdi is a simple and easy recipe. This recipe healthy too. This is everyone’s favorite recipe. You can try this style dal khichdi at home.




INGREDIENTS

·       1 cup rice

·       1/2 cup mung dal

·       4 cup wate

·       1-2 green chillies

·       1 tsp garam masala

·       ½ tsp turmeric powder

·       Red chilli powder

·       Salt to teste

·       Finely chopped tomato

·       Finely chopped onion

·       2 tsp oil

·       2 tsp ghee

·       ½ tsp mustard seed

·       ¼ tsp hing

·       ½ tsp cumic seed

·       Garlic cloves

·       Curry leaves

·       Dry red chillies

PROCESS

Step 1: In a cooker take rice. Add mong dal and mix well, wash it well water really good 3-4 times

Step 2: Add water, green chillies,garam masala , turmeric powder, red chilli powde ,salt and tomato mix well.

Step 3: Add oil and close the lid.

Step 4: Cook on medium heat until 4 whistles. Open the lid and check , if you want to khichdi more runny then add hot water and beat it really good.

Step 5: Heat up the oil and ghee in a pan.

Step 6: Add mustard seed and let it pop up add cumic seeds, hing, garlic cloves and fry it well.

Step 7: When garlic cloves get light golden color add curry leaves, dry red chillies then add onion.

Step 8: The onion get light golden color add the tadka on khichdi and mix well.

Step 9: Dal khichdi is ready.

TIPS

§  You can have as it is or you can serve it with some pickle and papad.
